Terms And Conditions

Kennington Carpet Cleaning Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Kennington Carpet Cleaning provides carpet, upholstery and related cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. By booking a service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, which form a legally binding agreement between you and Kennington Carpet Cleaning. Please read them carefully before placing a booking.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:

Customer means the individual or organisation requesting and paying for the services.

Services means any carpet, rug, upholstery, hard floor or related cleaning, stain treatment, deodorising, disinfection, or similar work provided by Kennington Carpet Cleaning.

Premises means the property or location where the services are to be carried out.

Technician means any employee, worker or subcontractor of Kennington Carpet Cleaning who provides the services.

Agreement means the contract between Kennington Carpet Cleaning and the customer comprising these Terms and Conditions and the confirmed booking details.

2. Scope of Services

Kennington Carpet Cleaning provides professional cleaning services within its service area as advertised from time to time. The exact services to be carried out, the areas to be cleaned and any additional requests will be agreed at the time of booking or during the pre-service assessment.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the description of the premises and the items to be cleaned is accurate and complete. Any change to the agreed scope of services may result in a change to the quoted price and the time required to complete the work.

3. Booking Process

Bookings may be requested through the channels made available by Kennington Carpet Cleaning, including online forms or other contact methods as specified on its materials from time to time. A booking request is an offer to purchase services and does not create a binding agreement until it has been confirmed by Kennington Carpet Cleaning.

Kennington Carpet Cleaning will confirm bookings subject to availability, suitability of the services requested, and receipt of any required information or deposit. Confirmation may be provided verbally or in writing, and will typically include the service type, date, time window, and the price or pricing basis.

The customer must ensure that all booking details are correct. Any amendments should be requested as early as possible before the scheduled service time. Kennington Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to refuse a booking, to propose an alternative time, or to cancel a booking where it is unable to provide the services safely or appropriately.

4. Access to the Premises

The customer must ensure that the technician has safe and timely access to the premises at the agreed time. This includes arranging for keys, entry codes or concierge permissions where necessary.

If access is delayed or refused, or if no one is present to grant access at the agreed time, Kennington Carpet Cleaning may treat this as a late cancellation and may charge a fee in accordance with the cancellation provisions below. Additional waiting time or return visits may incur extra charges.

The customer must ensure that sufficient lighting, electricity, water and, where applicable, parking and lift access are available for the duration of the service. Any parking fees or congestion charges reasonably incurred in order to access the premises may be added to the final invoice.

5. Customer Responsibilities

The customer is responsible for preparing the premises for cleaning. This may include removing fragile items, valuables, breakables, small furnishings, personal belongings and clutter from the areas to be cleaned, and making any special access arrangements clear in advance.

The customer must inform Kennington Carpet Cleaning before the service begins of any known issues that may affect the work, such as pre-existing damage, loose fittings, unstable furniture, high-value or delicate materials, and any areas that require special care.

The customer must also inform the technician of any allergies, sensitivities or health concerns that may be relevant to the use of cleaning products or processes in the premises.

6. Pricing and Quotations

Prices may be given as fixed quotes based on the information provided, or as estimates where the exact scope of work cannot be confirmed until inspection. All prices are stated in pounds sterling and include or exclude any applicable taxes as clearly indicated at the time of quotation.

Kennington Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to adjust a quote if the information provided by the customer is inaccurate or incomplete, or if the condition or size of the areas to be cleaned is materially different from what was described. In such cases, the technician will discuss any changes to the price with the customer before proceeding.

Additional services requested on the day may be provided at the discretion of the technician and will be charged at the prevailing rates.

7. Payments and Invoicing

Payment terms will be communicated at the time of booking. Kennington Carpet Cleaning may require full or partial payment in advance, or may accept payment on completion of the service, depending on the nature of the work and the customer type.

Accepted payment methods will be stated in the booking confirmation or other communications. The customer must ensure that payment is made in accordance with the agreed terms. For commercial customers, invoices are typically payable within a specified number of days from the invoice date, as stated on the invoice.

Kennington Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to charge interest or late payment fees on overdue invoices, and to withhold further services until outstanding amounts are settled in full. Ownership of any cleaning consumables or products supplied as part of the work remains with Kennington Carpet Cleaning until payment is received in full.

8. Cancellations and Rescheduling

The customer may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving reasonable notice before the scheduled start time. The required notice period and any applicable charges will be stated at the time of booking or in the confirmation.

Where insufficient notice is given, Kennington Carpet Cleaning may charge a cancellation fee to cover the costs of the booked slot, administrative time and any non-refundable expenses. Cancellations made on arrival, or where the technician is unable to gain access to the premises, may be treated as a same-day cancellation and may be charged at up to the full service price.

Kennington Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a booking due to reasons beyond its control, including but not limited to staff illness, equipment failure, extreme weather, access issues, or health and safety concerns at the premises. In such cases, it will offer an alternative appointment or, where appropriate, a refund of any prepayment for the cancelled service.

9. Service Quality and Complaints

Kennington Carpet Cleaning aims to provide services with reasonable care and skill, using appropriate products and methods for typical domestic and commercial environments. Results may vary depending on the age, type and condition of carpets, fabrics and surfaces, the nature and duration of stains, and any previous treatments or damage.

If the customer is dissatisfied with the service provided, they should notify Kennington Carpet Cleaning as soon as possible, and in any event within a reasonable period after completion of the work. Where a complaint is justified and it is practical to do so, Kennington Carpet Cleaning may offer a re-clean of the affected areas, a partial refund, or another appropriate remedy.

Kennington Carpet Cleaning is not obliged to remedy issues that arise from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including re-soiling after the service, wear and tear, structural defects, or previously hidden damage that becomes apparent only after cleaning.

10. Liability and Limitations

Kennington Carpet Cleaning will take reasonable care when providing the services and handling customer property. However, it shall not be liable for any loss or damage that results from inaccurate information provided by the customer, failure to follow advice or aftercare instructions, or pre-existing conditions of carpets, fabrics, flooring or fixtures.

Kennington Carpet Cleaning is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic losses, including loss of profit, business interruption or loss of opportunity, arising from the provision or non-provision of the services, except where such exclusions are not permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Where Kennington Carpet Cleaning is found liable for damage to property, its liability shall, to the extent permitted by law, be limited to the lower of the cost of repair or the current fair market value of the damaged item, taking into account age, condition and normal depreciation.

11. Health, Safety and Environmental Standards

Kennington Carpet Cleaning follows applicable health and safety obligations relevant to its operations. Technicians are instructed to assess each job for safety risks and may refuse to work in areas or conditions that are hazardous, unsanitary or otherwise unsafe.

The customer must not request the use of chemicals or methods that are not approved by Kennington Carpet Cleaning, and must ensure that children, pets and vulnerable persons are kept away from recently cleaned or treated areas until it is safe to access them.

Any instructions provided by the technician regarding drying times, ventilation, and restricted use of carpets or upholstery after cleaning must be followed to reduce the risk of accidents, damage or re-soiling.

12. Waste Handling and Regulations

Kennington Carpet Cleaning handles waste generated during the cleaning process in accordance with relevant UK waste legislation and local requirements. This includes the proper disposal of used cleaning solutions, contaminated materials and vacuumed debris.

General household waste and items not generated by the cleaning process remain the responsibility of the customer, unless a separate waste removal service has been explicitly agreed. Kennington Carpet Cleaning is not a general waste carrier for furniture, appliances, or large quantities of domestic or commercial rubbish unless specifically contracted for such work.

The customer must not ask technicians to dispose of hazardous, clinical or controlled waste that falls outside the normal scope of cleaning operations. Where the service involves the removal of contamination that may be subject to special handling rules, Kennington Carpet Cleaning will follow applicable regulations and may charge additional fees for any specialist waste disposal required.

13. Damage to Property and Items

The customer should highlight any particularly delicate, antique or high-value items before the service begins. While reasonable care is taken, some materials may react unpredictably to cleaning, especially if previous cleaning products or treatments have been used.

Kennington Carpet Cleaning is not responsible for damage caused by inherent defects, poor installation, existing wear and tear, colour fading, loose dye, or shrinkage where such outcomes are a known risk of cleaning certain textiles and materials. Where a higher-than-normal risk is identified, the technician will explain this and may seek consent to proceed or refuse to carry out the work.

Any damage alleged to have been caused by the services must be reported as soon as reasonably possible, with supporting details. Kennington Carpet Cleaning may inspect the damage and, if appropriate, arrange for repair, replacement or compensation in line with the liability limitations set out in these Terms and Conditions.

14. Insurance

Kennington Carpet Cleaning maintains appropriate insurance cover for its operations in line with industry practice. Details of cover may be provided upon reasonable request. Insurance is subject to policy terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions imposed by the insurer.

15. Data Protection and Privacy

Kennington Carpet Cleaning collects and uses personal data such as names, addresses and service details to manage bookings, deliver services and handle payments. Personal data is handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws.

Customer information will not be sold to third parties. It may be shared with service partners or agents only where necessary to perform the services or manage the business, or where required by law or regulatory authorities.

16. Changes to Terms and Conditions

Kennington Carpet Cleaning may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of booking will apply to that particular service, unless changes are required by law or regulatory guidance.

Updated terms may be made available through official communications or published materials. Continued use of the services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms for future bookings.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter, save that consumers resident elsewhere in the UK may also bring claims in their local courts where this is provided for by applicable law.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held by a court or competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision shall, to the extent required, be deemed deleted, and the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not be affected.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with the confirmed booking details, constitute the entire agreement between Kennington Carpet Cleaning and the customer in relation to the services. They supersede any prior discussions, correspondence or understandings relating to the subject matter of the agreement.
